Poker is one of first casino games of cards which has been around for a long time. People visit casinos to play this game and at times they even play at home in the company of friends and family. People who live at remote places which have limited avenues of entertainment relax and unwind playing william hill poker with their mates, with many now playing online poker . This game is played by many in different countries and the opportunity to win a neat amount is surely the motivating factor.

Those who wish to play and win at Texas Holdem need to keep a poker face meaning keep their face expressionless. A person whose expression reveals his cards stands a definite chance of losing as his opponents get a fair idea about his hand and they change their game accordingly. Body language is very important in Casino Poker games , and is you can correctly guess what kind of hand your opponents has, you stand a greater chance of winning.

There are various expressions or gestures used by poker games players. A person who has weak hand usually tries to lean forward or appear very interested in his hand as he wants to fool others in to believing that he has a strong hand. Sometimes players place a bet and stare at their opponents as if challenging them, but in reality they are trying to scare others in to believing that they have a strong hand.

A player who is confident about his hand usually says that he has a bad hand and he is unhappy with the bet or raise and this is done at the start of a hand. Dont be fooled by this tactics as this player has a good hand in reality and wants to fool others into believing that he has a bad hand.

People usually associate a trembling hand with weakness or insecurity, but this is not always true. Players who are excited and who think they have almost 100% chance of winning display such behaviour. A player in a strong position will scratch or brush his face in a hurried movement just moments before a bet and this behaviour should not be misunderstood as nervousness. On the contrary, he is really in a strong position and wishes to fool his opponents.

Betting Strategy at Three Card poker strategy
Although this table game uses the hand rankings and general concept of poker, it lacks the subtlety and skill of variations like Texas holdem and seven card stud or cycling betting, where the players compete directly with one another. In fact, three card poker is even simpler to play than blackjack, in which the player must learn the optimal decision for each set of hands in relation to the dealers up card. Three card poker games and online bingo involves only three decisions: Is it worth playing due to the payout structure? Should I bet the Pair Plus? Do I fold or play my hand? Lets start with the first question. While roughly similar, there are several different payout structures on the ante bet, which vary from casino to casino. Fortunately, the difference in house edge in almost all of these structures is less than 1%. When choosing where to play, your best option will be a table that pays 5 to 1 on a straight flush and 4 to 1 on three of a kind, although 3 to 1 isnt much worse. You should be aware, however, that there are some casinos that do not pay a bonus on the ante when the player makes a straight, improving the house edge. If possible, avoid three card poker at these casinos, even if a special payout for a Mini Royal Flush is offered. The next decision you need to make is whether or not to play the Pair Plus circle. A friend of mine once told me a story about how his father had won a lot of money using the strategy of betting on the Pair Plus, as if this were some sort of expert move. On the contrary, the Pair Plus is often seen as a sucker bet, as it serves merely to increase the house edge of online gambling, though the prospect of a big payday on a straight flush is certainly enticing. The most common pay structure of casino games, in which a flush pays 3 to 1, is actually the least favorable to the player. In general, play at places that offer 4 to 1 odds on a flush and 6 to 1 on a straight; the other hands are rare enough that slight variations in the payout do not much matter. If youve decided to play in the game at all, you must then choose to fold or play your hand each round. Fortunately, this is probably the easiest decision of all: bet the Play if your hand is Q-6-4 or better and fold if it is lower. In other words, play any hand that contains a king, any hand that contains a queen and a seven or better, and any hand that contains a queen, a six, and a four or better. This hand is the cutoff point for where the player begins to lose less than he would lose by folding. Using this strategy and betting the Pair Plus would give the house an edge of a little over 5%, which is higher than blackjack and some bets on the craps table but not too bad when compared with many of the other bets in the casino.

World Poker Tour in Ireland
At the end of Day 1 in the 2012 World Poker Tour Ireland, the Irishman, Dave Callaghan found himself at the top of the leaderboard. The World Poker Tour in Ireland is currently taking place at the Citywest Hotel that is located in Dublin. Day 2 of the World Poker Tour Ireland started with 195 players remaining out of the original 338 players that started out playing in the poker tournament. Players are working hard to stay in the game in the hopes of winning the top prize of 202,680. While 36 players ended the day still in the running for the prize money, and knowing that they have each ended up in the money, there were other players who have fallen short of ending the 2012 World Poker Tour Ireland in the money. These players included Dave Callaghan, who had ended the first day of the tournament at the top of the leaderboard. Other notable players who have fallen short of the money include Andy Black, Sam El Sayed, Tatjana Pasalic, Toby Lewis, LeoMargets, Sam Holden, Kara Scott, and Jon Kalmer. Two former World Poker Tour champions, Jake Cody, and James Dempsey are also not in the running for ending in the money. Cody was out of the game after Andrew Wayman won a hand, and soon after, Dempsey was eliminated when Jim ONeill won with pocket queens. At this stage the player with the highest chip count going into Day 3 is Dave Shallow. The Englishman will be entering the third day of the World Poker Tournament Ireland with a 951,000 chip count. Shallow is an unknown in live poker tournaments, but has been doing very well for himself in the online poker world. Other players who are at the top of the leaderboard going into Day 3 are Franck Boyer with 873,000 chips, Steve Watts with 628,000 chips and William Dorey with 576,000 chips.

Interview with Vanessa Rousso
by Steve Marzolf As a lawyer, poker pro and self-described “huge dork,” Vanessa Rousso has made a name for herself in tournament poker, earning more than $3.7 million since 2006. Lately, she’s been repping for PokerStars and running poker “boot camps” to raise up the next crop of winning players. We called Vanessa up to talk about her tactics for surviving – and thriving – in the high-pressure world of large-buy-in tournaments. So you’re primarily a tournament player? I would say I’m only a tournament player. I can play a cash game or two. But to be honest with you, I play so many tournaments as it is, that if I play cash games too, it’s just too much poker. I like to have balance in my life, and there just aren’t enough hours in the day to play tournaments, cash games and do all the other things I like to do. Mike Matusow was complaining to us that high-buy-in tourneys have gotten too risky to profit on – what do you think of that statement? My results are skewed toward high buy-ins. I find that in the smaller buy-ins, I don’t do as well. The higher the buy-in, the more pressure and the better I play. I guess my own particular strategies are more suited to high-buy-in events against better players. So, for me, I’d rather play fewer events that are higher buy-in. What do you think it is about your style that matches up so well with those events? I think it’s probably rooted in logical ability. Basically, the higher the buy-in, the deeper the chip stacks, right? So, there’s more opportunity for telling stories with your bets and raises, and there’s more opportunity for tricking and trapping your opponents. In smaller buy-ins, you have to play more ABC optimally and just exploit the mistakes your opponents are making. At the higher levels, you’re not really waiting for your opponents to make errors – you’re more trying to trick and trap them. So it’s a little bit more of a mind game. I guess I don’t have the patience to play the ABC right way that I should in the smaller buy-ins, and then in the bigger buy-ins, tricking other thinking opponents is enough of a challenge that I give it my A-plus effort every time. But you cut your teeth playing sit-n-go’s, right? Well, I started off playing on the internet for free when I was in college, and then when I turned 21, I started playing live – that was when I was in law school in Miami. The first casino I played at was the Seminole Hard Rock down there, which had sit-n-go’s. I’d play on the weekends, and that’s how I built up my first bankroll. Why did sit-n-go’s work for you? They really had a definable, optimal strategy. Once you figure them out, there are only so many dynamics that can come up in one 10-person, set-blind-structure, $150-buy-in game. There’s just not that many ways it can go down. It took me a couple weeks to figure it out, but once I did, it was a formula that I could apply to that situation. And it was pretty consistent at making money. For beginners who want to follow in your footsteps, what sit-n-go advice do you have for them? I’m really big into reading the books and preparing for poker the same way you would for any money-making opportunity. People don’t just jump into investment banking without any schooling about it. I read like 30 books in a couple months before I started. Also, you need to be a lot more patient than people think you need to be. People come in to play, and they try to take advantage of the low blind levels to play hands that are a little more speculative. But really, the chips are worth next to nothing when the table is still 9- or 10-handed. For instance, many people may find that they double up or even triple up early on in a match, but then don’t even make the top three. Because that early on, those chips just aren’t worth anything. Therefore risking chips to accumulate those early chips isn’t worth it. It’s profitable to play much, much tighter than you think in the early stages. Once your career got moving, was there a moment when things really came together for you? I think it was when I came in 7th in the $25,000 buy-in WPT main event back in 2006. It was the first time I’d taken a shot on the pro circuit, and it worked out. I won a quarter-million dollars, and that pretty much launched my career. It gave me the confidence to continue playing the circuit. Then later that year I won another 400-some thousand in various events. So 2006 was really the big year for me. Can you describe the processes running in your mind when you’re at a game like that and trying to get a read on your opponents? Getting a read all boils down to two categories – are they comfortable or uncomfortable? Because, if they have a good hand and they’re an experienced player, that’s a situation where they’re going to be super-comfortable. Good players have had aces a million times, so their hands aren’t trembling at aces anymore – it’s just something that makes them feel confident. Whereas even a good player can get nervous when they’re in on a big bluff, because that’s a situation that’s less in their control. On the flip side, inexperienced players will be a lot more uncomfortable with good hands because they’re not used to getting aces, kings, queens. The adrenaline’s been released. And since beginners tend to think poker is a lot more about bluffing, they can actually look pretty comfortable holding nothing. Good players, though, know how easy it is to get caught bluffing. So, if you can put your opponent into the comfortable/uncomfortable category, and then determine whether or not they’re an experienced player, it can really help you decide whether they have a hand. Is this the kind of stuff you get into during your poker boot camps? Yeah. I break down tournament strategy into a logical formula and give people guidelines to follow. Rather than vague principles, I give them specific strategies to follow. Mostly, I try to simplify the extremely complex game of tournament poker. Some of the things they can expect to learn are how to use “M” in hand selection; I cover some advanced reading techniques; I cover some game theory and poker stuff, as well. If anyone’s interested, they can get more info at www.bigslickbootcamp.com.

Known for his crude, unrelenting, and derogatory poker playing style, he was a breath of fresh air in a poker world filled with donkeys, self-appointed experts, and Euro trash. He was always there to listen and give his opinion. If you needed a freeroll to enter to get your mind off the day, he would find one. And his gambling exploits were always good for a laugh. To honor his memory, Eddies good friend, RudyRudeth, plans on enjoying a game of late night poker. Hopefully hell be watching over me and Ill kick arse but its more likely hell be watching and yelling what the f#$* are you doing you dafty old cow! Ahhh, the memory of Eddie lives on! Here is to you, our good friend! Related posts: Remembering A True Gentleman In The Game Of Life

The strategy to shut down Full Tilt Poker stolen from Jack Abramoff’s playbook
This article is a writers political view or opinion and submitted content and does not entirely represent pokerbloggs.com Poker Domain Seizures Part 4 The strategy to shut down Full Tilt Poker stolen from Jack Abramoffs playbook Jack Abramoff Photo Image Jack Abramoff is the most famous lobbyist of all time. Why am I bringing his name up on a poker blog? Well, Ive been doing a serious of articles exposing corruption at the highest levels of Washington DC and Las Vegas: Domain Seizures Part 3Domain Seizures Part 2Domain Seizures Part 1 addendumDomain Seizures Part 1 Unlike most people who are begging for regulation of online poker, Im doing the opposite. I will not beg to government officials to do what I want in privacy of my own home (as long as Im not hurting anyone). The wool is being pulled over the whole online poker community by the NFL, Caesars/Wynn, Fair Play USA, and the PPA. These companies are using the masses of online poker players to beg congress to legalize something that is not illegal in the first place. Eric Holder himself could not say whether it was game of skill or not in front of a senate DOJ over site committee: He is quoted as saying beyond my capabilities and Do you think Phil Ivey is just lucky, he is the worlds greatest poker player? asked Democratic Representative Steve Cohen of Tennessee. I am not sure I know who Phil Ivey is, but I am sure there is some degree of skill that is involved, some degree, I am not a poker player myself, Holder replied. The reason Im bringing up Jack Abramoff and Eric Holder is that they were both lobbyist for major DC firms. They both stifled competition to benefit their clients. In the case of Eric Holder, he went from making $2 million a year for Covington and Burling to $150,000 as Attorney General. And now all of his former clients are benefiting??? Jack went to jail for 3 and 1/2 years and Eric Holder is in one of the highest positions of the US Government. But one could argue that Frank Fahrenkopf (American Gaming Association lobbyist for Caesars) would be more comparable to Jack. Frank and Jack are/were both beloved Republicans with ties to the very top (Bush Family). Both are/were lobbyists that worked for the casino industry. both fought bills prohibiting online gambling and both used influence to stifle competition for their clients, and both funneled money to congress representatives to pass their initiatives. Jack has reevaluated lobbying in his new book Capitol Punishment: The Hard Truth About Washington Corruption From Americas Most Notorious Lobbyist Amazon.com Widgets He writes it continues today, unabated by reform campaigns or public ire at the Congress. Most of these legislators had taken thousands of dollars from my clients and firms, and now they were sitting as impartial judges against me. Washington hypocrisy at its best, I know that, barring a torch and pitchfork uprising, no real changes will occur. the lure of post-public service lobbying employment needs to be eliminated, If you chose to serve in Congress or on a congressional staff, you should be barred for life from working for any company, organization, or association which lobbies the federal government. Jack spent 3 and 1/2 years in jail for fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy to bribe public officials. The only problem is that this sort of thing is going on as we speak. Jack had committed conspiracy to bribe public officials to shut down Indian Casinos. He later would bilk them out of millions to persuade congress to let them open up again. Jack and his partner Michael Scanlon attempted to bilk (Jack would most likely disagree with this term) the Native Americans out of 85 million dollars. He still claims to have done the Indians a favor because of the millions they reaped after his services. The most incredible similarity I found between Jack Abramoff and Michael Scanlons scandal and the online poker seizures is that of Sun Cruz Casinos. This is almost identical to the attack on online poker and specifically Full Tilt Poker. You see, Sun Cruz was the internet poker of the time so to speak. It eluded the regulation of the brick and mortar cartel of casinos in the USA that is funded by Michael Milken. Something had to be done to keep the kleptocracy going, so using their influence in congress, Jack Abramoff used his friends at Americans for Tax Reform to funnel money to Rep. Bob Ney and others to apply pressure to shut down Konstantinos Gus Boulis and his SunCruz Casinos. This is not unlike Covington and Burling attaching bills in the middle of the night to port security bills or using their shill Eric Holder to confiscate online poker domains. In my opinion, American International Center LLC (a company that was set up by Abramoff and Michael Scanlon) is not unlike Fair Play USA. Fair Play USA is a fake grass roots organization or Astro-turf company financed by Caesars Entertainment. They act to influence lawmakers just as Ralph Reed did for Jack Abramoffs benefit. They also ask poker players to call their congressman, write letters, etc etc. So if they were ever exposed as what they are they could say you asked for regulation. Here is one of Fair Play USA principles rovide tools to crack down on unlicensed foreign operators who do not comply with U.S. law; removing U.S. banks as the enforcers under UIGEA and empowering law enforcement to shut down illegal operators. This is simply Caesars paying ex Homeland Security Tom Ridge and Ex FBI Louis J. Freeh to use their buddies to wipe out (or lower the price of) Full Tilt Poker. SunCruz Casinos forced into bankruptcy even though they were highly lucrative business More similarities exist between SunCruz and Full Tilt Pokers shut down. Jack Abramoff was an attorney at Greenberg Traurig and was used to seek a buyer for the troubled SunCruz Casinos. Jeff Ifrah is Full Tilt Poker Attorney and was an attorney at Greenberg Traurig and is helping facilitate deal for buyer for Full Tilt Poker. Jeff is still a shareholder at Greenberg. Instead of keeping his fiduciary duties of getting his client out of trouble, Jack teamed up with a shady character named Adam Kidan. Adam Kidan would be the buyer for SunCruz Casinos if he had the cash. He didnt have all the cash and committed fraud to produce a fake wire transfer of $23 million. One could compare Kidan to Bernard Tapie.Bernard Tapie PhotoBernard Tapie is the shady French character that is looked to as the savior for the Full Tilt Sale. Adam Kidan and Bernard Tapie both have shady past, both didnt have the money on their own, and both are front men. So lets get a little refresher course: Bob Ney = Jon KylAdam Kidan = Bernard TapieCaesars/Wynn/Milken = The MoneyFair Play = Ralph ReedSunCruz / Indian Casinos = Full Tilt PokerJeff Ifrah = Huge billing like Jack had at GreenbergRay Bitar = Konstantinos Gus BoulisAGA Frank J. Fahrenkopf = Jack AbramoffHarry Mason Reid = Tom Delay Adam Kidan Photo Adam Kidan would end up getting stabbed multiple times by Konstantinos Gus Boulis when he tried to push Gus out of the business. Konstantinos Boulis would later be murdered after the attack and subsequent sale falling into disarray. Three members of the Gambino crime family were arrested for the professional hit on Boulis. $250,000 was traced by investigators from Kidan to the mobsters. Kidan claimed the money was for catering and security and investigators believed him. Anthony Moscatiello and fellow hitmen Konstantinos Boulis the owner of SunCruz Casinos and founder of Miami Subs Full Tilt Poker is like a resource rich Indian Reservation with casinos or a profitable International Cruise Line casino multiplied by 10. All of the issues it has with money is a result of the UIGEA which was attached by a lobbyist for the NFL. The NFL has future gambling initiatives and is really influenced by the Rooney family which owns the Steelers and Casinos up and down the east coast. The UIGEA was tailored to the Rooneys for their Horse tracks and Poker Rooms. When Full Tilt Poker aligned with stations casinos, it was a threat to the Caesars/Wynn/NFL cartel on future online gambling. The members of TWO PLUS TWO are going to have to come to realize that they are being used by lobbyist to pressure legislators on bills that will restrict their freedoms and cost them money down the road. Amazon.com Widgets Im saying it now: Two Plus Two is being used just like Focus on Family was to email congress and make phone calls. This will only benefit a future Caesars/Wynn/Milken online gambling monopoly. I believe the whole strategy to shut down Full Tilt Poker was taken directly from Jack Abramoffs lobbyist playbook. I believe he is more relevant than ever. He even admits in his sixty minutes interview that lobbying (in its current form) is bribery and nothing less: 60 Minutes InterviewAbramoff: I think people are under the impression that the corruption only involves somebody handing over a check and getting a favor. And thats not the case. The corruption, the bribery, call it, because ultimately thats what it is. Thats what the whole system is. Stahl: The whole systems bribery? Abramoff: In my view. Im talking about giving a gift to somebody who makes a decision on behalf of the public. At the end of the day, thats really what bribery is. But it is done everyday and it is still being done. The truth is there were very few members who I could even name or could think of who didnt at some level participate in that. So is Jack Abramoff truly for more regulations against lobbyist? Has jail given him time to think? Or, is he simply working some new angle for a return to politics or main stream media? I really dont know but I would like to think he changed while he was in prison and is exposing corruption for the good of the American people. Im going to give him the benefit of doubt unless he proves me wrong.

Marrakech is Next Stop of WPT
The World Poker Tour stops in Morocco this week, in Marrakech. There will be top poker players competing for some great prize money. Last stop was Jacksonville, and the next stop is Prague, giving the WPT players very little time to take a break and catch their breath, but the possibility of winning the prize money certainly makes up for that. The tournament will be hosted at the very impressive Casino De Marrakech. It is expected that not only will this weeks leg of the tournament be a very high-class one, but that the poker playing is also likely to be impressive. As one of the more glamorous venues for the World Poker Tour, Marrakech is a place that players really feel the atmosphere of a big-time tournament, and the possibility of some big wins to go with that exciting feeling. The top three players on the WPT leader board at this time stand as Will Failla, Bobby Oboodi, and Jin Hwang. Phil Ivey has also been a top contender in this years World Poker Tour. He has found himself at nine of the final tables during the tour, and is expected to keep on showing a strong game. Scotty Nguyen is also playing well, with finishes at eight final tables this season. The most cash prizes have gone to Barry Greenstein and Lee Markholt, who may not have won any titles, but have been doing very well winning cash prizes. Other notable players to watch in Marrakech are Connor Drinan, Vitor Coelho, and Dwyte Pilgrim, who all did very well and were noted in the Jacksonville leg of the World Poker Tour. The buy-in for the main event is set at 3,000 Euros. Although it is unknown what the prize pot will be at this time, it is likely to be a fairly impressive pot that will be won at the end of the four days of poker competition.
